OK, SO MY DAUGHTER TURNED 21 TODAY (MAY 3).
THAT'S AMAZING, BUT MONICA WENT DOWN TO THE STATES TO CELEBRATE WITH SOME FRIENDS, SO SHE WASN'T WITH ME THIS WEEKEND.

My son, Evan, WAS with me though.
He worked Friday and Saturday nights so he asked me if his girlfriend, Katrina, could come over Sunday to spend the afternoon watching movies and if I could make them supper.
Of course I said yes.
After watching X-Men (The Last Stand), they started watching a horror flick -- Silent Hill.
And while Evan says he's more the wussy than her as far as being scared by horror flicks usually, he had seen the movie before...so Kat, being a girlie girlie, was all a'scared.
She's a beautiful girl and they're great together, they just really have a lot of fun.
But she wasn't exactly appreciative of me taking some pix of her freaking out at the some of the more gory scenes, although she didn't freak and allowed me to proceed.
Her semi-reluctance, of course, encouraged me all the more.
Meanwhile, my beef and onion sauce was simmering all afternoon on the oven and my water for boiling the spaghetti was at the ready.

I can sympathize with Katrina. I'm a big chicken when it comes to horror flicks too.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to Monica!
They are just TOO CUTE. I'm with you, WW!
ReplyDeleteMany happy returns to your daughter.
ReplyDeleteGive her my love.
Evan and Katrina are both so sweet!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your daughter, and Cheers on a well prepared meal! The fotos are fantastic. You have such a great relationship with your kids. It's wonderful!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday to your not-so-little girl ;)
ReplyDeleteAs awesome as your kids obviously are, I would loathe being 16 or 17 again. Give me 18, when you can leave school and leave town and leave yourself behind to start all over again.
Anna:
ReplyDeleteI tried to say the two of them that guys LIKE getting horror flicks 'cause they know their ladies will stick close to them out of fear and they can play the strong male thing.
Then she piped up and said no, she's the one who likes scary movies and Evan was the wussy...
Then she proceeded to hide her face for much of the movie...ha ha ha ha ha!!!
Andrea:
I agree, and then of course me taking their pix while all this was going on added more hilarity...
Gautami:
Will do, and yes they are!
Eroswings:
Thanks man. I was willing to make them something more fancy schmancy but she's Italian and loves the pasta...
Stace:
ReplyDelete"I'm 18...and I don't know what I want," etc. etc.
That'll come soon enough for them. Right now they feel insulated in the safety of high school.
I getcha, and I agree, but their time will come...probably all too fast.
:-)
That stove top could use a good scrubbing.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Monica!
ReplyDeleteMJ:
ReplyDeleteFigures you'd notice that. So then get over here in your skimpy maid uniform and clean it!!!
Laurie:
I'll pass that on, because I don't think she reads my blog. Should we give her the bumps?
Aaaaaww sweeeet!!!
ReplyDeleteHUGE congratualtions on your daughters 21st WW!
Angel:
ReplyDelete:-)
WooHOO! an International Adult!
ReplyDeleteWhen you're12 you wanna be a teenager..then 16 so you can drive then 18 so that you can go to the bar and after that there aren't any more years to wish away..21 is IT!
It's the end of phase one. She is such a self actualised gal that you don't need to worry too much..she knows what she wants and goes out and gets it. She is amazing.
Ev and Katrina *sigh..remember how end of the world those puppy loves were? If you didn't create all of the problems you would realise how great it is to be young. The real relationship issues are just down the road so keep reminding him to relax and enjoy the view. Those were the days.
