WW's Big Avatar Adventure (Celeb Lookalikes)

IT (GASP) HAS BEGUN.

For those unfortunates who are just stumbling across this blog and have no idea what's going on, you don't want to know.

But if you insist, we are searching for my new avatar following complaints from the peanut gallery that this picture makes me appear as a penal colony con somewhere off the Aussie coast.

I'm not sure, when I dreamed up this scheme, that I imagined how truly labour-intensive it would become. Nonetheless, I am pressing forward.

Below, randomly thrown together, are a series of pictures of celebrities and other beings.

Some of them are inspired by my own heroes and favourite doofuses, others recommended or sent to me for consideration by sensitive bloggers such as Homo Escapeons, MJ and Gautami.

As I have said before, while there will be no formal voting procedure, your opinions are welcomed. Each day, I'll file another collection of pictures, some emailed to me by others.

If in the end I decide to maintain my avatar as a question mark, as suggested by Stace, you'll know why...

  1. My vote stays the same as it was originally, I like the passport photo or the press pass shot. I'm a stubborn Norwegian, what can I say?

  2. Laurie:

True consistency is a virtue...both those shots will be posted and considered.

Or maybe I'll just go with an eye shot, same as you...

    Homeopathic Escape-a-doo-ron-ron-ron, a doo-ron-ron:

The guy with 100 moustaches on today's post is yours, Alfred E. Newman is MJ's, Dracula is Gautami's...

Your other submissions along with Andrea's and Anna's will be featured tomorrow, along with any others I get emailed...

But even after that, your images over time will still be prominent.

Don't talk to me about Google Circus Freaks.

Woody Allen, Napoleon Dynamite, David Letterman, Ronnie Corbett and several others there also have been aligned with me in one way or another, either because of the gap between their teeth or their gigantic aviator glasses.

    We can't dismiss them...

  5. I think you should have a photo of yourself. However, I have to admit that I kinda like the Alfred E. Newman image... but I don't think it really fits.

  11. HE:

Yeah, it'll all start to make sense...I hope...

    Ziggi:

Very, very good witches are impatient, aren't they... :-)

    Anna:

(Don't tell anyone, but I don't think I would make one of those my avatar even if everyone voted for it)

    Aidan:

That's not out of the realm of possibility, but we have to consider all options, Mate.

    Stace:

Well, maybe I'll go have a look, then ;-)

    Gautami:

Stay tuned, you may very well see some that fit into that category in the next day or two...

    Awaiting:

Better blame HE, A. It's all his fault. Some pic will appear asap, I'm sure...

Sorry, girl, missed you there...While Mr. Bean is the Babe Magnet of the Week, he has no gap in his teeth, I just couldn't help but post him.

GWB, well, I don't think many of my American friends see much similarity between us, although they do see a likeness between me and Alfred E. Newman.

What? Not one mention of Pee Wee Herman. I'm disappointed.
