The Death of Free Speech

Blogger, it turns out, is a corporate Baby. It has infuriated most of us by arbitrarily and with no warning obliterating apopular blog, Infomaniac, and then refusing all queries to at least explain why.
It is not any longer about why or whether some of us chose to go there. It is about how Blogger can just DO this, I thought welived in a democracy. There is something called freedom of speech.
Or freedom of expression.
Doing away with MJ's blog serves no one's interests. It is heavy handed and takes away the rights of those who choose to go there, despite Blogger's warnings. I urge the blog's immediate reinstatement, as is and was.

  4. If you have to back up your blog, just in case, there is a blogger tool that Mago posted about over at Princess's place (both are Infomaniacs, too)...Mago suggested:

I just made a copy of my blog: You find it under "Settings" - "Basic", in the first line: Blog tools: Import, export, delete.
Simply export it, it will be stored in "xml"-format on a location you name on your computer.
I read that it is possible to import "xml"-data f.e. in wordpress, they have an extra button for this. I will do this later and tell you what happened. I first have to think about all this and will post.

I'm currently researching other blog back tools. So far, the most of them only back up text (including the comments) but very few back up entire posts to include pictures. I've experimenting with one right now, and I'll let you know how it works out. In the meantime, I've taken Mago's suggestion and backed up my blog. At the very least, the words will be saved, if not the pictures.

If you choose to use anonymous to comment, it is only fair that I reserve the right to obliterate your comment from my blog.
