Brain Cramps, Writers' Block or...whatever

I'M EITHER DEVELOPING A MONSTER BRAIN CRAMP...

OR I HAVE A MAJOR DOSE OF WRITERS' BLOCK.

EITHER WAY, I THINK I NEED TO TAP ON MY KEYBOARD LESS.

AND GET OUT AND DO OTHER THINGS MORE.

I FEEL A BIT LIKE A BLOTTED OUT BLOGGER AT THE MOMENT.

I need to lighten up and brighten up and go seek out the sun and have some fun.
I have to escape and get in shape and take a break for my own sake.
I'll be around in the background
May visit you, say howdy-doo
Until that time, here's to ALL OF YOU.

  1. Get out there before it's winter in WinterPeg!

  2. He can't! It's still skitter season for at least a few more days!

When I'm seriously blocked I have to get out of the house too - preferably to go fishing - whereupon I get The Idea I Need To Continue but I have no pen so I forget it by the time I get home but by then I don't really care.

Enjoy the blog-break, it can be wonderful !!!

  4. MJ:

    It's ALWAYS winter in WinterPeg!

    Frank Baron:

Welcome. But you are wrong, it's been so cold and grey here all week I think the skitters are gone.

I'm glad that by the time you get home, you don't really care. That's what I have to do -- care less.

    Hildie:

Definito, my Flemish Friend (it is correct to call all Belgians Flemish, isn't it?)

If not, we'll call you Belgian Babe.

    Which do you prefer?

  5. It hasn't rained here in a week!!!

  6. There is definitely a difference between writing for a living and living to write. I can understand how the sound of tapping keys could get annoying if you HAD to do it everyday.

But the fact remains that you are a sentient, sensitive, guy with a big heart. You love people and they reciprocate in kind.

We like reading your thoughts and watching you blow off steam every now and then.

So do whatever it is you need to do, but don't take too long.

  7. Hey! Get HE to do guest blogging in your absence!

  8. Hey you!! I left my link at MJ's! Been missing you like cray-zay!

  9. We all need time for ourselves. We just don't realise it. Or even if we do, we kind of ignore the inner voice.

If brain says stop, then we must stop.

I cope by sleeping it off. I get teacher's block too. Worst kindof block for me.

Go, have fun, paint the town green, purple, psychedelic shades.

Blogging can wait. If it cannot, let it go take a hike!!!

Hey, what is this? I'm supposed to be taking a break from this thing but people keep leaving comments.

And old habits die hard. It's been grey and sullen and cold and pissy here all week. Blech.

    HE:

Thanks. Not sure how long. I'll have to find another way to "blow off steam."

    MJ:

HE and I are polar opposites in many ways -- maybe even bipolar opposites, though we still usually mesh -- and he's got a huge audience to satisfy!

    Awaiting:

    I'll get around there sometime...thanks!

    Gautami:

Words of wisdom and insight, as usual. I think I WILL paint the town green -- as long as the paint doesn't freeze.

Oh, oh and oh, and a big big smile. That's a major teaser. Nope, not all Belgians are Flemish but all Flemings are Belgians, so I'll settle for the Babe formula ... untill Belgium finally splits :-) Wished we could go out and have a drink and a laugh, now that you are having a break, in one of our many Flemish café's :-))

  14. Hey everybody!

  15. Menchie:

You can tap your foot as long as you don't kick me with it!

    Ziggi:

    Right-o.

    Hildegarde:

Belgian Babe it is then. But wait...I'm not taking a break from life, just a break from blogging.

    Or trying to...

    MJ:

Ha ha ha ha! V-E-R-Y funny!

  19. ww -I recommend a big dose of psyllium husk for your blockage ;).Hope the weather is letting you get outside :).

    ReplyDelete
  20. soooo... have you decided to pack it in like h.e.?

    ReplyDelete
  21. Angel:

Getting a tan in THIS crappy weather? No, I think mushrooms are growing between my toes.

I'm doin' just what my post said I was going to do...taking a break.

Homerly Enchiladas shut his blog down for his own reasons, and this was not something we did in concert or anything, it has just happened this way.

I am still taking the break. Thanks for peekin' in on me though!

    Aidan:

Tantalising bits? I don't know bout that, but yeah, life does tend to get in the way of things.

    Hope all's well.

    Lee:

Now, of course, I'll have to find out what psyllium husk is. I'm assuming it's the outer skin of a grain of rice or wheat or something.

I kept thinking of elephant tusks.

    Awaiting:

    Mutual! And thanks.

  22. I was going to leave you in peace, but then there was the sudden exodus on the other side of town and I thought maybe I'd better drop a line before the current blog virus afflicts ALL of W'peg.
The "usual suspects" in cases like yours are 1. hormones 2.weather
    3. politics.
You poor bugger! Have a Labatts and a quiet lie-down!

  23. When I get Writer's Block I just eat. It doesn't help the Writer's Block but I feel better. BTW, WW, if it's already winter in WinterPeg you can always visit sunny South Florida where the temperature will be in the mid to high 80s for a few more months.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Dinahmow:

OK, I'll have that Labatts! (Smarmy Kiwi/cum/Aussie girl who knows something about Canada).

I can't speak for what's going on across town, I think he's weakening, but I'll be back if/when the time's right!

    Carmenzta:

It's amazing to see you back, I thought you actually might have become the Suicide Blonde (not really, but you know what I mean).

I will not eat to get myself back to blogging. In fact, I've been on a fast ever since my last post.

    I like Dinahmow's suggestion better...

It's great to see you're back.

As far as visiting South Florida, don't tempt me...winter hasn't hit yet but it's not far off...

    Ziggi:

I've been watchin' a bit, and today commenting. Thanks for noticin', tho!

  25. where art thou?

    Keshi.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I'd like you to come back, please.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Keshi:

I have moved to England to become a serf and to recreate Shakespeare's life to see what works he'd produce in 2007.

Actually, I'm still here, Keshi...just takin' a break. Maybe I'll start posting reruns!

    Be well.

    Anna:

In the words of someone who was no doubt deemed immortal, "sometimes I sits and thinks. And sometimes I just sits."

I'm contemplating life and pulling lint from my belly button. Maybe I'll blog about that...

Just kidding. I'm thinkin' about it and waiting for a brilliant thought. This may take a while...

    :-)
