The View from Mars

I STILL MARVEL AT THE WONDER OF THE BLOGWORLD
13,990 VISITS IN 11 MONTHS
THANK YOU...
I know I come and go
But I want you all to know
How cherished is our meeting
How I'd hug you in our greeting
I value your ideas
And your jokes and meat-filled pitas
How you stimulate my thinking
And my feelings and my winking
You're from all over the planet
Can't get better than that, can it?
From Australia to New Zealand
Belgium, U.S...it's a whirlwind
You hail from Britain to Biloxi
From Montreal to Mississippi
Montana's mountains to Pikipsee
Manitoba west to B.C.
You're all worth more than treasure
Knowing you has been a pleasure
Your lives have touched my own
It's just a gift I've been bestown

  1. Awww, that was truly lovely! And I had no idea you wrote poetry. Wow, your talents have no bounds. Looks and brains, sensitivity and creativity... I'm impressed.

  3. It's often difficult to tell, online, whether somebody is being serious or ironic. I'll pander to my own ego by believing that you're serious and that my visits mean something to you :) The blogging community can be a wonderful place, and your blog is one of those which make it so.

  5. Wow. Did you know it? (I mean being the poet?) Touching without being syrupy; pithy without being trite.

    Thanks, WW.

  6. Anna:

I don't write poetry...these are just a bunch of rhyming words that mean something to me.

Just trying something different to shake myself out of the blogger doldrums...garsh...

    Laurie:

    *Turns red*

    Stace:

It is so lovely to see you on my blog again, girl, and with a gorgeous picture (and it truly is, and that Aidan guy, he's one lucky man).

I'm so glad you have pandered to your ego and arrived at the belief you have, because your visits always mean more than something to me.

Thanks so much for being the lovely person you are.

    Aidan:

You guys are all in my mind, my heart, my tiny brain...oh oh, it's going to explode...

    Andrea:

    ;-)

    MJ:

HA HA HA!!! Was that a bad typo on my part?

No, winking is for those within, wanking is for those (going) without...

But on your blog, NOBODY goes without, it seems...

Hey, maybe if we can get the Blogger Awards people to start up a category of just that description, I might win...

  15. Menchie:

    Thanks! :-)

    MJ:

HA HA HA!!! You'll notice I have switched my avatar pic to my police record/prison convict one.

I'm hoping it will serve to help me change my image into a hard-ass, insensitive tough guy whose only priorities are wine, women and song.

...And crushing middle-aged stay-at-home humourists such as Homo Escapeons like bugs beneath my feet...

    Awaiting:

Any time, girl. Hope things are going OK for you...

  16. I'll crush both of you beneath my stiletto heels.

  17. Don't ever believe a word of any comment Australians leave on your blog. They are a terrible breed of people ;).

  20. MJ:

    Ewwww, that might hurt...

    Lee:

Yeah, but I've calculated it, and Aussies make up almost 30 per cent of my regular visitors.

    Gotta keep the customers satisfied...

    Gautami:

Point taken, considering my love and adoration of your country.

You'll note, however, I also did not include the Phillippines (Menchie) or South Africa (Angel and others), just a matter of space...and my inability to rhyme...

    Angel:

Yeah those dots are cool, ain't they girl?
